The Capellanía fire was a rapid fire, starting near the urban-forest interface zone, with high intensity from the outset and generating a significant convective plume. Around 40 minutes after its start, it has sufficient intensity to generate a small overshooting pyrocumulus, causing the column to flatten and disperse (visible during approach at over 80 kilometres). At around 18:45, the head of the fire hits the lake (water reservoir), which is unable to jump. From then on, the flanks make some relocations, but these are of low intensity and no large column is generated again.
